The Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr Samuel Pyne has presented 3000 household energy-saving bulbs to 15 senior High Schools in the Metropolis on Monday.
According to the Mayor, the move was to help improve the security in the schools by providing enough lighting in every corner to ward off criminals. Each of the 15 schools would receive 200 bulbs to make this a reality as well as enhance learning, especially at night.
The Metro Director of Education, Mr David Oppong, who received the items on behalf of the schools, expressed gratitude to the mayor for the gesture and assured him that the bulbs will be used for their intended purpose.
