The Covid-19 National Trust Fund received donations amounting to GH¢62,329,941.98 as of June 2022.
An amount of GH¢53,230,805.37 out of the total Fund has been disbursed for various programmes as well as for administrative purposes and procurement of items.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Covid-19 National Trust Fund, Justice Sophia Akuffo, disclosed this on Thursday in Accra at a press briefing to update the media on the disbursement of funds received from corporate Ghana.
The former Chief Justice said the Trust Fund supported the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (GARH) to connect a pipe from the hospital’s oxygen plant to its Covid-19 ICU and holding bay to save the hospital from incurring an average of GHȻ24,000.00 worth of tanked oxygen per month.
She said the Fund also helped to complete the 100-bed Infectious Disease Centre at Ga East Municipal Hospital in Accra.
Justice Akuffo said Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and some relief items were donated to tidal wave victims at Keta, Ada and Kokrobite.
She disclosed that the Trust Fund currently has GH¢9,099,136.61 in its accounts and pledged that the Fund would continue to keep its mandate to assist in the welfare of needy and vulnerable persons infected with or affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
