As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Ghana Gas Company Limited has initiated and completed 152 projects in all 16 Regions of Ghana.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas Company Limited, Dr Ben K.D. Asante disclosed this during the state of the agencies report at the Ministry of Information Conference room in Accra on Wednesday.
He stated that the company since 2019 has successfully initiated and completed 152 projects across the country.
He announced that among the 152 projects are 44 educational projects, three health facilities, two markets and six social development projects.
“We have completed 89 water and sanitation projects, one road project, a security project and six sports projects,” he added.
Dr Asante further disclosed that the company was undertaking additional 301 projects including health facilities, which were expected to be completed soon.
On the issue of oil and gas discovery, Dr Asante stated that most of Ghana’s domestic gas comes from offshore, stressing that currently, the main source was the Tano Basin.
He, however, expressed hope that the country in the ensuing years would discover oil and gas onshore.
“But we’re hoping that in the not very distant future, we may be able to find some oil and gas onshore in the Voltaian basin,” he emphasized.
