The Ghana Shippers Authority has admonished shippers to utilise the services of the Shipper Complaint and Support Unit (SCSU) positioned at all the country’s entry points.
The SCSU was set up to give real-time assistance to shippers at the country’s entry points.
Addressing the Shippers in Accra last Tuesday, a Senior Officer of the Shippers Service and Trade facilitation Department GSA, Mrs Rhodalyn Djanitey, mentioned the benefit shippers can derive from the SCSU.
“The SCSU also offers the government the opportunity to understand the challenges in the shipping and logistics sector,” she added.
She noted that the Authority is aware of the plights of shippers regarding harassment by personnel from the security agencies which results in delays in the movement of their goods in transit, and the unstable exchange rate.
“The GSA will engage relevant agencies and stakeholders to address problems confronting shippers,” Mrs Djanitey assured.
The shippers visited include Royale Assets Company Limited, JABAG Multi-Haven Ent., Stevebrob Publishing Service, Berma-Young Clearing Limited Diankeff Ent., Batmoh Ent., Mikwaneo Merchant & Construction Ltd., Oduponteng Ventures, My Best Eye, Emmaur Logistics, Ampam and Sons Ventures.
