The Volta Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr Emmanuel Kwabena Quarshie, has urged Community Policing Assistants (CPAs) to demonstrate a high level of professionalism in the performance of their duties.

He said this in Ho when he addressed the 2nd batch of the 5000 Community Policing Assistants (CPAs) who graduated from the Ho Police Training School last Friday.

Mr Quarshie said professionalism could earn the CPAs’ recommendation and open doors for them to join the police service and other security agencies.

He hinted that the YEA and the Ghana Police Service (GPS) were working together to create an opportunity for the CPAs to get enlisted with the GPS after the expiration of their two years contract.

He indicated that the current module of the CPA is designed to recruit 15,000 youth.

The Regional YEA Director said out of this number, 5,000 have already passed out from the six Police Training Schools and are serving in different places in the country, adding that the third batch would pass out in Match this year.

On his part, the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Andrews Boadu-Ekumah, commended the CPAs for successfully going through the training.

He said the GPS was working hard to gain the trust of the citizens and, therefore asked the CPAs to serve well in the communities they would be posted to.
