Local government authorities across the country are devising strategies to increase their internally generated funds to spur development in the local authority areas.
Accordingly, the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly is stepping up efforts to increase the internally generated funds of the Assembly.
Inaugurating the Aboso Area Council Members on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, the Municipal Chief Executive, Dr. Isaac Dasmani, said internally generated funds would help the Assembly to self-finance most of its projects so that all the communities in the area would have access to social amenities and other essential facilities.
Hence, the assembly, he said, would construct two toll booths on the Prestea and Aboso main roads to raise revenue, saying, “I intend to put up two revenue gates on the Aboso and Prestea roads to generate revenue to develop Aboso and Prestea.”
He used the occasion to advise the Members of the Council to work in harmony for the development of the municipality.
He also urged them to solve their internal problems amicably when the need arises.
On his part, the Divisional Chief of Bontoawere, Nana Kwasi Akrosah, advised members of the Council to discharge their duties with decorum on issues concerning community members to prevent misunderstanding between them and the community members.
