The Mayor of Kumasi, Mr Samuel Pyne, has handed over a 6-unit classroom block to the African Faith Basic School at Santasi-Kegyase in the metropolis.
Mr Pyne disclosed that the 6-unit classroom block, funded by the District Assembly Common Fund, is the first phase of a 12-unit block of the project.
He said the second phase would begin soon and expressed confidence that when completed, it would enhance academic work in the school.
The project was initiated following an appeal from the Metro Education Directorate.
He charged the school to practice a good maintenance culture to prolong the life span of the facility.
At another ceremony, the Mayor handed over 900 mono and dual desks to the Metropolitan Education Directorate for distribution to 21 basic schools in the Metropolis.
