The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is implementing the Holistic Reinforcement of Sustainable Development, a European Union funded project, to strengthen the city’s capacity to provide public services with special attention to integrated management.
At an implementation durbar with the Camara Municipal da Praia, Cape Verde, held in Kumasi on proper waste management for waste pickers to boost the circular economy in Kumasi, the Mayor of Kumasi, Mr Sam Pyne, appealed to the waste pickers to give the project their full support to make it successful.
The International Project Coordinator of HORESD, Dr Helder Moreira, said the patronage of the durbar was an indication that the waste pickers were ready to collaborate to ensure the success of the project.
