Kwabre East, Afigya Kwabre South to get road rehabilitation

The Ashanti Regional Director of Urban Roads, Mr Francis Gambrah, has said the Department will rehabilitate selected roads in Kwabre East and Afigya Kwabre South Districts.

Mr Gambrah said the project is anticipated to span a total of around 20 km of roads within Mamponteng in Kwabre East Municipality and 30km in the Afigya Kwabre South District.

The project is expected to be completed between 18 and 24 months.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, said upon assumption of office, he assessed development projects in the region and realised that the “tallest task” was the road network.

He said the government therefore awarded various contracts to remedy the situation, including Kwabre East and Afigya Kwabre South.

The Minister expressed the hope that, given the history of the current contractors, they would complete the project in time.
