For effective implementation of the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCO) Project, the Northern Regional Coordinating Council has been given five pickups, 24 laptops and 59 tablets.
The Northern Regional Minister, Mr Shani Alhassan Shaibu, receiving the items, underscored the need to use them responsibly.
The SOCO Coordinator, Mr Samuel K Forson, on his part, said the 24 laptops would be given to eight Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) while the 59 tablets would go to community facilitators in those MMDAs.
For the five pickups, he said they would be given to the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and the SOCO Zonal Office for administrative work.
Clarifying the role of the community facilitators, Mr Forson said they are recruited by the assemblies to support them by way of conducting research on the project and reporting their findings.
The pickups with 24 laptops and 59 tablets, were presented to the RCC on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development.
