The Tamale Metropolitan Security Council (METSEC) has engaged the Chief of Banvim and his elders on alleged encroachment of public lands in the community.
The meeting is necessitated by reports on the invasion of lands belonging to the Presbyterian School Complex in the area.
During the engagement, the Chairman of the METSEC, Mr Sule Salifu, said the visit to the Palace of the Banvim Laana was part of the steps METSEC was taking to address the encroachment of public lands.
The Banvim Chief, Naa Abdulai Mahama, accepted responsibility for the temporal structures that are raised on lands supposedly reserved for roads.
He also pledged his support to the authorities to fight this menace, including the demolition of unauthorized structures.
