Mr Richard Ebbah Obeng, Western North Regional Minister, has appealed to the Minister for the Interior for a Prison Command in the region.
The prison Command, according to him, would provide the citizens with some protection from criminals.
The minister made the appeal when the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, paid him a courtesy call at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Sefwi Wiawso.
Mr Ebbah Obeng also urged the Minister to equip the Security Services in the region to enable them to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently.
He expressed concern about terrorists’ activities in the neighbouring countries and cautioned the public to be on the alert and report suspecting individuals to the Police.
On his part, Mr Dery charged personnel of the various security agencies to be professional in their line of duty and not meddle in Chieftaincy-related issues.
“Security personnel are duty bound to ensure peace and stability in the country and must behave as such. The government would continue to support their activities to enable them to protect lives and properties,” he said.
