The Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) is to train about 3,500 people to serve as a “City Response Team” to enforce the ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ bye-law.
They will be deployed to the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies to ensure the sustainability of the programme after the training.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey, who disclosed this at a sensitization programme in Accra, said the RCC was in the process of recruiting people to begin the training.
He said the RCC would strictly enforce the bye-law to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa.
He, therefore, called on residents and businesses operating in the Accra Metropolitan Area to support by ensuring that their surroundings are kept clean.
