Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Health (MoH), Mrs Emma Ofori Agyeman, has visited Zipline at Omenako-Suhum in the Eastern Region, which collaborates with the government to bring health care to the doorsteps of the people.
The introduction of Zipline’s innovative instance health delivery services is part of the government’s plans to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Mrs Ofori Agyeman was taken through the operations of the company’s three main divisions; the Medical Supply Storage, the Packaging Unit and the Drone Launching Unit.
Mrs Ofori Agyeman commended Zipline-Omenako for ensuring that there was equity in healthcare delivery and urged the company to maintain its professionalism.
“Your existence and sustainability are very important to us; we will continue to engage in whatever will make you stay in business to deliver your core mandate,” she added.
On his part, the Fulfilment Operations Lead of the facility, Mr Nathaniel Nartey, said that Zipline works directly with the RMS, National Blood Service Supply and the Expanded Programme on Immunization, which supply it with medical products, blood and vaccines for distribution.
He disclosed that Zipline makes about 2500 to 3200 deliveries daily, serving about 726 public health facilities, including CHPS Compounds in the Eastern and Central regions.
