The 2021 best farmer will receive a cash prize of GHS 600, 000, the 1st runner up a tractor with all the accessories and the 2nd runner up a Nissan Navara Pick-up.
The sponsor for the first prize is Agricultural Development Bank (adb) and that of the 1st and 2nd Runners up are Exim Bank and Stanbic Bank Ghana, respectively.
The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture in charge of crops, Mr Yaw Frimpong Addo, disclosed this in Accra when he received cash donations of GHS 600,000 from adb, GHS 20,000 from New OKAFF, GHS 20,000 from AMG, GHS 25,000 from YARA Ghana, GHS 24,500 from Kingdom Exim, GHS 5,000 from Louis Dreyfus Company, and GHS 5,000 from Flour Mill Ghana.
A total of GHS 699, 500 cash donations has been received from seven corporate entities in support of the 37th Farmers Day Celebration.
Also, WYNCA Sunshine donated agro-inputs valued at GHS 100,000, Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) donated farm inputs worth GHS 60,400, SIDALCO presented farm inputs worth GHS 37,500.00, and Bon-Agro also gave agrochemicals.
This year’s farmers day celebration will start on 29th November 2021, with an Agricultural Fair, Exhibition, Regional Focus Days focus and climax with a Grand Durbar and Award Ceremony on Friday, 3rd December 2021 at the Adisadel College, Cape Coast in the Central Region.
