All MMDAs in Greater Accra to celebrate 66th Independence Anniversary in Tema

In line with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s directive to cut down on government expenditure as part of measures to recover the economy, all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Greater Accra region will celebrate the 66th Independence Anniversary at the Tema Sports Stadium.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey, announced this at a stakeholder engagement in Tema to plan activities for the celebration.

The Minister said the celebration with start with a three-day Operation Clean Your Frontage (OCYF) clean-up exercise from 2nd to 4th March 2023.

He said the clean-up drive would be supported by 500 men and women from the City Response Team (CRT), 600 men and women drawn from the security and intelligence agencies, 600 men and women from the taskforce teams across all MMDAs and District Environmental Health Officers across the region.

He said there would be a Free Health Screening and NHIS Registration on Saturday 4th March after the clean-up exercise, in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service and Regional Health Directorate, supported by TOBINCO Pharmacy.

The Regional Minister entreated all identifiable groups and public entities within the Tema enclave to demonstrate patriotism and fully participate in the exercise.

The Regional Coordinating Council is doing this in collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Ltd., the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, Regional Health Directorate, Regional Education Directorate, TOBINCO Pharmacy and the Advertisers Association of Ghana.
