Bilateral cooperation between Ghana and China has deepened under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and President Xi Jinping, President of the Chinese Association for International Understanding, Mr Liu Hongcai, has noted.
Mr Hongcai made the point when an eight-member team from the Association paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Madam Mavis Nkansah Boadu.
Mr Hongcai acknowledged the longstanding diplomatic ties and cooperation between Ghana and China, dating back to the 1950s.
He was hopeful the relations would be enhanced through people-to-people exchanges and in various areas such as trade, culture and tourism.
He also indicated that China is willing to work with African countries, particularly Ghana, to boost economic development.
Madam Mavis Nkansah Boadu commended the Government of China for cooperating with Ghana in various fields, which has contributed to the economic growth of the country.
To facilitate trade between the two countries, the Deputy Minister proposed a direct flight from China to Ghana and vice versa.
