The Deputy Minister for Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has assured aggrieved graduate teachers who have anomalies on their promotional results slips that the Education Ministry would address their concerns.
He said the Ministry was concerned about their plight and would institute measures to address them.
The Minister gave this assurance when he addressed aggrieved graduate teachers who besieged the premises of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Hall to submit a petition on discrepancies in the results of the promotion examination.
The teachers, who vented their frustration at the GNAT Hall, said they needed explanations as to why some successful candidates were informed to bring their documents for verification only to be told they had failed the examination.
According to the teachers, previous petitions on the same issue had not been addressed.
Over 17,000 teachers who sat this year’s promotion examination were not successful.
