The Deputy Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, Mr William K. Offei-Mensah has urged the newly inaugurated Audit Committee of the Information Services Department (ISD) to discharge their duties with integrity, transparency and accountability.
Also, he urged the Committee to be impartial in the delivery of its mandate to ensure judicious use of public funds and resources.
Mr Offei-Mensah, who was inaugurating a five-member Audit Committee of the ISD, charged the Committee to use its powers to ensure the adherence of audit recommendations that may crop up in the course of its tenure in office.
On his part, the Acting Chief Information Officer of ISD, David Owusu-Amoah said the guidance of the immediate past Audit Committee helped the Department to manage its financial systems properly and hoped that the new Committee would do the same.
The inauguration of the committee is in accordance with sections 86(1) and 103(1) of the Public Financial Act, 2016 (Act 921), which requires that all government institutions to establish Audit committees.
Members of the newly constituted committee were Daniel Tetteh Sackitey (IAA), Ellen K Blankson (IAA), David Quaye (ISD), Bridget Mensah (ISD) and Bernice Lamptey (IAA) with Samira Ahmed Rufai (ISD) as secretary.
