The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has launched a campaign dubbed: the’ I WILL’ campaign.
The campaign is an Early Childhood Development that seeks to ignite the renewed commitment among parents, guardians and stakeholders towards a desirable caregiving behaviour that guarantees the development of children in their early childhood period.
It was launched in partnership with UNICEF, Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Education Service.
The Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr Afisah Zakariah, who launched the campaign last Thursday in Accra at the second and third quarter National Child Protection Committee meeting, applauded UNICEF and committee members for their inputs in mainstreaming children’s issues into the National Agenda.
She urged the committee to ensure that child protection issues are discussed and steps provided to address them.
Dr Afisah Zakariah advised members to be committed to sharing information on their sector plans and programmes and reports quarterly to the committee on progress made on the plans.
“It is always important to reflect on our accomplishments and challenges to effectively plan for the future,” she noted.
A Representative from UNICEF, Madam Lucia Soleti, commended the Ministry and the Department of Children for convening the meeting to reflect on the collective achievements and track the implementation of the child and family welfare policy.
