The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has organized a two-day stakeholders’ workshop to validate the abridged version of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on Human Trafficking into a child-friendly and simplified version.

">

The workshop sought to collate the inputs from key actors to develop an abridged version of the SOP to combat human trafficking in Ghana with support from Expertise France.

In an address, the Head of the Human Trafficking Secretariat, Mrs Abena Annobea Asare, stated that Ghana’s legislative and policy frameworks on human trafficking have been strengthened over the years through the developed Standard Operating Procedure tools.

She charged participants to make valid inputs into the SOP to ensure a holistic document.

She commended all stakeholders and called for a stronger collaboration between them to ensure that human trafficking was a nip in the bud.

As part of the two-day exercise, participants were taken through a graphical representation of the SOP, communication tools for engaging various groups on human trafficking issues and communication tools for frontline workers.

The Human Trafficking Secretariat (HTS) exists to facilitate the prevention and combating of trafficking cases in Ghana. It is also to sensitize people on human trafficking and create a peaceful environment to accelerate national development.
