The Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ramses Joseph Cleland, has pledged to improve the regional passport application centres by providing them with relevant infrastructure.
He said this when he called on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, in Kumasi on Wednesday.
‘Aside from infrastructure, there is the need to forge close relations with the personnel to make them more responsive,’ he said.
He admitted that there is heckling at the various passport acquisition centres nationwide which adversely affects the corporate’s image and must be addressed.
He admitted that some passport centres are too small, thereby creating congestion.
Mr Cleland, therefore, appealed to the Regional Minister to help the Ministry to acquire land in Kumasi to build a new office.
Mr Osei-Mensah assured the Chief Director of his support for improving the Passport Application Centre (PAC) in Kumasi.
The Minister also appealed to the ministry to sensitise the public on its activities, especially concerning passport acquisition.
