The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources in charge of Lands and Forestry, Mr Benito Owusu-Bio, has assured the Nayiri that his palace will be given a lands secretariat in conformity with the New Land Act 2020 (Act 1063).
The Act has made it compulsory for palaces to have customary lands secretariat to keep proper records.
The Deputy Minister gave this assurance when he paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Mamprusi Traditional Area of the North East Region, Na Bɔhagu Mahami Sheriga, ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the Lands Commission Regional Office last Tuesday.
The inauguration of the Lands Commission Regional Office is in fulfilment of President Akufo-Addo’s promise to equip all the six new regions with the needed logistics to function.
Mr Owusu-Bio expressed confidence that the Nayiri would give the regional officers all the needed support to operate in the region.
The Nayiri on his part assured the palace would support the office to discharge its mandate.
