He reiterated that, “I want to request the GIS to put up a robust Operations and Maintenance plan that would give this modern facility an everlasting life span.”
Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu commended the German Federal Police and the German Government for giving financial support to the facility.
The Northern Regional Commander of GIS, DCOI Dr Prosper P. D Asima, said the facility would help to increase the capacity of the GIS, provide specialised and expert care of a wide range of vehicles, allowing for advanced diagnosis of problems accurately and efficiently.
According to him, “This really is a one stop solution and a game changer to our mechanical problems, to provide us with quick and efficient service, and assist in the tracking of vehicles operation and the planning of maintenance. This beautiful edifice in the Region will bring substantial relief to the GIS Commands in the five Northern Regions of Ghana.”
He urged those who would be managing the facility directly to ensure the proper maintenance of it for the interest of the GIS and the nation as a whole.
