“Operation Clean your Frontage” campaign will kick start on February 1, 2022.
The campaign mandates individuals and corporate entities in Accra Metropolitan Area (AMA) to be responsible for the cleaning and greening of their immediate surroundings.
At a stakeholders’ meeting in Accra, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey, who is the chief architect of the campaign, said it would start with a float in all the principal streets of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to sensitize residents on the programme.
He added that over 10,000 National Service Personnel, Environmental Health Officers, traders, business operators in the Greater Accra Metropolis would join the float and clean principal streets in all the MMDAs.
According to Mr Quartey, the exercise would begin at Kaneshie First Light through Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange, Farisco to Okaishie, UTC, Kinbu, Kwame Nkrumah Interchange and Lapaz and other environs in the AMA.
The stakeholders at the meeting were the leadership of all Transport Unions, GUTA and Market Queens of AMA.
