The Electoral Commission (EC) has cautioned election observers not to interfere with the electoral process in the upcoming December 7 elections.
This is to avoid confusion and misunderstanding at the polling centres which could mar the election process.
The Director of Training at the EC, Mr. Michael Baidoo, said this during a training session with the election observers of the Information Services Department (ISD) in Accra.
He said the duties of election observers are to look at the electoral processes at the polling centres and report accurately what they see and ways to improve subsequent elections.
He told the observers to check whether the election processes conform to acceptable standards that meet the free and fair participation of all stakeholders of the elections.
He said challenging the conduct of the elections at the polling station would amount to interference of the electoral process, which could lead to disruption.
