The First Vice President of the Panama Parliament, Madam Kayra Harding Sart, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mrs Mavis Hawa Koomson in Accra on Friday.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen Ghana-Panama relations, particularly in the Fisheries Sector and to reassure the Sector Minister of Panama’s readiness to host the upcoming 2023 Ocean conference on 2nd and 3rd March 2023

Apart from the Ocean Conference, the Fisheries Minister has been invited by Madam Sart to participate in Panamanian Parliamentary proceedings to share her experience as a Member of Parliament during her stay in the Republic of Panama.

Ghana and Panama share a history of friendship as well as a commitment to economic growth and development.

In November 2022, the Ghana Parliament and the National Assembly of Panama (NAP) established the Ghana-Panama Parliament Friendship Association to foster a mutually beneficial relationship.
