President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Sunday, left Ghana for an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany at the invitation of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.
President Akufo-Addo, during the visit, is expected to partake in multiple engagements that would strengthen and deepen economic relations between Ghana and Germany.
At the maiden edition of the newly instituted Jubilee House press briefing on Friday, August 20 2021, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, told the Presidential Press Corps that the President would deliver a speech at the 75th-anniversary celebration of the formation of the North Rhine–Westphalia state— Germany’s most popular state and industrial region.
According to Mr Arhin, the President will also address a ceremony at the North-Rhine Westphalia Academy of International Politics in Bonn as the guest of honour.
As part of his visit, President Akufo-Addo will hold a meeting with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer to discuss establishing a National Vaccine Institution in Ghana and procurement of more Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to improve Ghana’s vaccination drive.
Before the President participates in the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) — an initiative under the German’s Presidency to promote private investment and infrastructure in Africa — President Akufo-Addo will meet with the German investment community to promote the country’s favourable investment opportunities and the business-friendly environment.
President Akufo-Addo is expected to return to Ghana Saturday, August 28 2021.
