The Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has noted that the government has made unprecedented investments in road infrastructure across the country.
He said, “We have constructed thousands of kilometres of newly paved roads, connecting communities and facilitating economic growth like never before.”
The Minister said this during an inspection tour of the Volta and Oti Regions last Thursday. He completed his nationwide tour examining ongoing projects and identifying roads needing urgent attention.
The Minister inspected the Atimpoku-Asikuma Road, Ho Main Road Dualisation, Ho bypass, Asikuma-Have Road, Have-Hohoe Road and Hohoe town roads in the Volta Region.
At Oti Region, he inspected the Hohoe-Jasikan and Jasikan town roads and the Nkwanta-Kpassa-Damanko section of the Eastern Corridor Road.
Addressing the press, Mr Asenso-Boakye noted that his regional tours allowed him to see “first-class roads constructed under the current regime, as well as bad roads needing urgent attention.”
The Minister assured that the Ministry was taking necessary measures to address challenges in the sector, particularly critical roads requiring urgent attention across the country.
