A Community Development Officer of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, Mrs Linda Owusu Sekyere has urged parents and guardians, particularly women, not to impose their will on their wards but allow them to choose the career development that suits them.
She also appealed to parents to balance their economic activities with the time they spend with children at home.
Mrs Sekyere gave this advice when the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) engaged women at the Agbogloshie Market as part of activities marking this year’s International Women’s Day.
She said making time for the proper upbringing of the children makes them also develop love and affection for the parents and stop them from taking advice outside friends which may lead them to become wayward.
“Stop the habit of leaving the home early without properly engaging your children and going back home late at night when they are asleep”, she stressed.
