The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered the Headmaster and one other of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO), Tamale to step aside as the Regional Director of Education investigates a viral video being circulated on social media showing some students of the School using toilet cubicles as dormitories.
GES in a press statement expressed disappointment, especially given the fact that the statistics have shown that, out of the 1790 openings announced by the school, only 1467 pupils have enrolled.
“The school is expected to have excess capacity to even house extra 300 students. It is thus, unacceptable to have students sleep in such a place,” it added.
GES assured all stakeholders and the general public that it would continue to ensure that the students entrusted in their care operate in a safer school environment.
