The Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, Mr Herbert Krapa, has urged agencies under the ministry to work hard to exceed their targets and take governance and client service issues more seriously.
He noted the importance of better care and services to customers as well as solutions to the challenges they face.
Mr Krapa made these remarks during the Ministry of Energy’s 2024 Client Focus Week Celebration in Accra.
The Minister stated, “We are in a sector that is at the centre of everything. If you think about national development and the economic impact on the people, it is impossible to overlook the energy sector.”
He expressed delight in the Client Focus Week, noting that, “This speaks to how seriously we take our clients.”
The Head of the Civil Service, Dr Evans Aggrey-Darko, noted that customer satisfaction was becoming a necessity rather than an option in the global economy.
“Why are we in this business at all? We are here because of our clients. If the client doesn’t exist, we don’t exist,” he added.
He advised service providers to prioritise customer needs without viewing it as a favour.
On her part, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Energy, Mrs Wilhelmina Asamoah, encouraged agencies to share their insights and experiences to foster a more efficient and sustainable energy sector.
The Ministry of Energy’s 2024 Client Focus Week is part of the activities marking International Customer Service Week and it showcased the achievements of the energy sector in the country.
Various agencies, including the Volta River Authority, Ghana Gas Company Ltd and Electricity Company of Ghana, participated in the event to display their products and services.
