The Northern Regional Minister, Mr Shani Alhassan Shaibu, has described entrepreneurship as the lifeblood of the economic and a platform for social and technological advancement.
“Entrepreneurs have the power to change the world for the better,” he said.
He said this in Tamale last Thursday at an event organised by Songtaba to award Micro Grants to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Mr Shaibu said unemployment has increased poverty level of the people in the region as many graduates continue to struggle for jobs.
That, he said, makes Songtaba’s vision to equip the youth with skills and train them to become successful entrepreneurs commendable.
The minister advised the youth to take advantage of the opportunity being offered by Songtaba.
Startup packages ranging from GHS2000.00 to GHS5000.00 were given to young entrepreneurs who successfully passed through a selection criterion Songtaba has outlined.
Songtaba is an organization that has been empowering and supporting women in the Northern Region by equipping them with skills and resources to start or expand their own businesses.
