The Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, (NDPC), Prof. Gyan Baffuor, has urged the Board to establish strategic relationships with institutions the Commission is mandated to work with.
He said a deeper understanding of the Constitutional instruments that serve as a guideline for the operations of the Commission would also help the board to meet its target.
Prof Baffuor said this at a three-day orientation workshop organized for Members of the 7th Governing Board of the NDPC on the legal framework of the Commission in the Eastern Region.
He said the strategic institutions, which include the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development and Ministry of Food and Agriculture, have been given the mandate to improve development outcomes and emphasized the need to work collaboratively with them to achieve national development targets.
The Board was introduced to yet to be launched outputs of the Commission including the Medium-Term National Development Policy Framework 2022-2025 and the 2020 National Annual Progress Report on the implementation of the Agenda for Jobs: Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunity for All (2018-2021).
Prof Baffuor assured that the Commission would collaborate with the Regional Planners to coordinate the Medium-Term Policy Framework. “The commission will find a way to connect with the Regional Planners so that they can work together to help them coordinate the plans of the regions and the districts,” he stated.
