The family of late Major Mahama on Wednesday called on the Attorney General (AG) and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, to commend him for his dedication in ensuring that the family get justice for the murder of their son.
They expressed satisfaction about how the case was conducted and the fact that justice have finally been served.
The Jury in the Major Mahama case returned a unanimous guilty verdict on twelve out of the fourteen persons who stood trial for the death of Major Mahama after five years of trial at the Criminal Jurisdiction of the High.
The 12 were found guilty of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and abetment of murder.
On May 30th 2017, a mob in the Central Regional town of Denkyira-Obuasi lynched the late Major Maxwell Mahama, a military officer leading a detachment of troops conducting anti-illegal mining operations at that location.
The delegation was led by Major Mahama’s mother, Veronica Bamford, and his uncle, Kaleona Tizzala.
