The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Madam Lariba Zuweira Abudu, has carried out a monitoring exercise as part of the ongoing 85th and 86th Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) grant payment exercise nationwide.
She visited various LEAP payment sites located in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region on Thursday.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Madam Lariba said the LEAP initiative was designed to enhance access to critical social services, foster productive engagement among beneficiaries and alleviate household consumption challenges.
“LEAP aims to empower beneficiaries to modify their behaviors in response to the persistent challenges of poverty,” she added.
She noted that the LEAP initiative aligns with Ghana’s national development goals and contributes to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
“LEAP remains a vital social cash transfer programme aimed at providing support to Ghana’s most economically vulnerable households,” she added.
