The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has held a two-day training on a gender-transformative accelerator tool, designed to complement and integrate phase three of the UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programmeto end child marriage.
The workshop sought to build the capacity of participants in gender-transformative approaches and foster a shared understanding and collaboration among partners to accelerate efforts to end child marriage.
According to the Ministry, the Gender-Transformative Accelerator Tool was developed by the UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programme to end child marriage as part of the ministry’s commitment to advancing gender-transformative programming.
It said the Gender-Transformative Accelerator serves as a participatory tool for programme staff, partners and stakeholders to critically assess their progress on core elements of gender-transformative approaches and brainstorm short-term and catalytic actions to shift interventions towards more gender-transformative results.
