The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Madam Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu, has assured unemployed graduates with a disability that the Ministry would dialogue with stakeholders and institutions to reserve employment opportunities for them.
This was after they visited MoGCSP on Monday in Accra to find out how best the Ministry could help them get jobs after their national service.
Madam Zuweira Abudu said disability was not inability and commended the disabled graduates for pouring out their grievances and advised them not to be discouraged in applying for jobs.
On his part, the Leader of the delegation, Mr Prosper Amenyo Adeku, expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the government to enrol Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) into schools.
He suggested that the Department of Social Welfare in the various districts should liaise with the District Chief Executives (DCEs) to help them get jobs, saving them the stress of always coming to Accra.
Mr Amenyo Adeku also appealed to the government to reserve a quota of recruitment into the Public Sector for the PWDs with professional qualifications.
