The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has held its 2023 first quarter Development Partners Meeting (DPM) on Thursday in Accra to efficiently carry out its mandate.
The meeting sought to strengthen the coordination and collaboration between the Ministry and its Development Partners (DPs).
It also aimed at sharing the Ministry’s Workplan for the year 2023 with Development Partners as well as listen to their plans for the Ministry.
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Madam Lariba Zuweira Abudu indicated that the Ministry has reactivated and initiated the sector-wide DPM to facilitate more interactions, dialogue and discussions with partners to tackle key focus areas of the Ministry.
“We are looking at teaming up with you to ensure we all collaborate effectively to make sure no one is left behind in the development agenda of the country and this we believe will come to fruition with your support,” she said.
On her part, the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Madam Francisca Oteng Mensah urged them to use their platforms to sensitize and support women to actively participate in the next district level elections to ensure their active participation in decision making and to increase the gender balance at the various district assemblies.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah, Chief Director for the Ministry also thanked the DPs for their commitment and noted that the ministry would continue to engage them to ensure key focus areas that are dear to both the Ministry and DPs are collectively achieved.
