The Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Prof George Gyan-Baffour, has announced that Ghana will participate in the 2025 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and present its third Voluntary National Review (VNR).
The forum, scheduled for July 2025, will provide a platform for countries to share their experiences and progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
A press statement signed by the Chairman of the NDPC, Prof George Gyan-Baffour on Monday, stated that Ghana would showcase its sustainable development efforts and experiences at the forum.
It stated that the decision to participate in the VNR process for the third time shows the country’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“In the letter informing the United Nations of its intention, the government expressed its desire to highlight our successes, confront the challenges we face and share the invaluable lessons we have learned along the way.”
According to the release, the VNR process is designed to be inclusive and transparent, allowing for the engagement of a wide array of stakeholders to ensure that the review reflects the voices and experiences of all segments of Ghanaian society.
