The Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) will commence the nationwide disbursement of social cash grants for the 77th and 78th cycles to the beneficiary households from 26th to 30th September 2022.

A press release signed by the Head of LEAP, Dr Myles Ongoh, stated that 344,389 households constituting over 1.5 million individuals would be paid the LEAP social cash grant for the stipulated period.

The category of persons who make a household eligible are orphan and vulnerable children, elderly (65 years+) without support, persons with severe disabilities who cannot work, poor pregnant women and mothers with infants under one year.

The statement said the joint cycles’ payment for 77th and 78th of all beneficiary households would be paid double the regular bi-monthly cash grant.

“One eligible member household will receive double GHC64.00, two eligible members will receive double GHC 76.00, then three eligible members will receive double GHC 88.00 and finally, a household with four and more eligible members will receive double GHC 106.00.  The households are paid through e-zwich,” it added.
