The Acting Chief Information Officer of the Information Services Department (ISD), Mr David Owusu–Amoah, has indicated that ISD has been retooled to disseminate government information.
He said the Department has recently launched a campaign to combat misinformation and provide direct information from the ministries, departments and agencies to the public.
He said this during a courtesy call on the Chief Director for the Ministry of Finance, Madam Eva Mends on Friday in Accra.
The purpose of the visit was to inform the Ministry of Finance about the ISD transformational agenda and to collaborate for the benefit of both institutions.
Mr Owusu–Amoah said the Department has been reorganized to meet the demands of modern information dissemination, citing particularly the Research, Media and Public Relations Coordinating Divisions that are helping to disseminate government information across the country.
He noted that the Department has officers in all the districts across the country who disseminate information on government policies and programmes to people at the grassroots in their dialects.
The Chief Director for the Ministry of Finance, Madam Eva Mends, said ISD was at the forefront in communicating government issues.
She noted that about 700 hundred staff of the Ministry of Finance devote their time and effort to ensure that the economy is on track.
