The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has said it is well equipped, capable of protecting its lands and therefore does not need the services of land guards to regain its encroached lands.
In a press release, it said it would be unimaginable that GAF cannot defend its own property and engage in illicit behavior by hiring land guards.
It said it was regrettable that news emanating from unsubstantiated sources is being repeated in the media space by persons who occupied higher positions of the land.
It encouraged the public and the media to get in touch with the Department of Public Relations before publishing articles of such sort.
The statement noted that GAF’s priority was on safeguarding the nation’s borders from the spread of violent extremism from the Sahel Region and did not want to be distracted from the goal of defending the nation.
The Ghana Armed Forces would like to reiterate to the public their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security for Ghana’s socioeconomic growth, it reiterated.
