The Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Kwasi Amoako-Attah, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of works on the Tema Valco roundabout and the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) road.

The Minister said this when he led a team of engineers from the Ministry to inspect the progress of works at the project site on Wednesday.

The Minister stated that out of the six culverts, the contractor has constructed five on the 7.1km stretch of the project, adding that the project was 25% complete.

He mentioned that the 4km stretch of Kpone junction to the Kpone barrier, which is in a deplorable state, has also been awarded to the contractor working on the TOR road, Joshob Construction.

Mr Amoako-Attah further hinted that apart from the construction of the road, a car park would also be constructed.

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers’ Union Executives commended the Minister for honouring his promise and making the road motorable.

The construction of the TOR road will alleviate the plight of petroleum tanker drivers and other road users on that stretch.
