Ghana’s Senior female national team, the Black Queens began the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers on a bright note after an emphatic victory against Rwanda in the first leg on Wednesday.

The Black Queens whitewashed their counterparts from Rwanda by 7:0 at the Kigali Pelè stadium, Rwanda. Both Anastasia Achiaa and Evelyn Badu registered a brace each for Ghana with Alice Kusi, Priscilla Adobeah and Evelyn Badu, all finding themselves on the score sheet.

This was Ghana’s first match in the qualifiers with Coach Nora Häuptle at the helm of affairs.

Meanwhile, the Black Queens will return to Ghana and lock horns with their opponents in the return fixture on Tuesday 26th September 2023 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
