The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr Mustapha Ussif has led officials and representatives of various Sports Federations to observe the 2023 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Day called the ” Play True” Day with a call on all Sports athletes to avoid cheating in sports.
The Minister, on Saturday noted that Anti-doping issues are becoming emerging issues.
He claimed that as a member of the World Anti-Doping Body’s Board, he was dedicated to educate the public about clean sports and the risks associated with doping.
He explained that the World Anti-Doping Agency has set every 14th of April aside as a day to celebrate anti-doping across the globe and Ghana is no exception.
Mr Ussif, further, stated that since Ghana would host the 13th edition of the African Games, it was important to take the issues of Anti-Doping seriously as the country prepares to host the rest of Sports activities in Africa.
