The 19th edition of the Africa Cycling Championship has ended in Accra, with the Eritrean cyclist, Henok Mulueberhan, winning the gold medal in the 120km Road battle over 11 laps.
Henok, who won in Rwanda last year, defied all odds and uplifted his riding skill and with lightning speed, crossed the white line to emerge as the ultimate winner in the 2023 cycling championship held in Ghana.
Hamza Yacine of Algeria came second with Morroccan Achraf El Dugmy placing third out of 84 riders.
The Confederation of African Cycling and Paracycling Championship took place at various itineraries in Ghana including Olebu, Ablekuma and Pokuase.
The likes of hosts Ghana, Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire, Rwanda, Namibia, South Africa, and Nigeria are among countries that were represented at the cycling event.
