The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) has donated GHC50,000 to former Black Satellites Coach, Sellas Tetteh, to help cover his medical expenses.

The donation was made when officials from the Ministry paid a visit to the ailing former coach at his residence on Monday in Accra.

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Evans Opoku Bobie, who led the delegation said the visit was to ascertain the condition of the coach and also to make a cash donation on behalf of President Akufo-Addo.

He acknowledged the role and contribution the former coach had played in the development of football in Ghana and indicated that the delegation would continue to pay regular visits to him.  He also expressed optimism that his health would improve soon.

Mr Michael Lassey Teivi, brother to the coach, expressed gratitude to the President for the donation and promised they would make good use of it.

Coach Sellas Tetteh led the U-20 national team, the Black Satellites to win the 2009 World Cup in Egypt.
