Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer disqualified from GFA Presidential race

Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, one of the people believed to be a front-runner in the upcoming GFA elections, has been disqualified from the contest by the Vetting Committee,

According to the list published by the Vetting Committee, the bankroller of Tema Youth Football Club had his name excluded from the qualified list of the GFA presidential hopefuls.Osei Palmer was rumoured to be a favourite of former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantekyi.

It is unclear why he was disqualified, though, the Vetting Committee had earlier indicated that candidates who fail the integrity test will be disqualified.

Two days prior to this announcement, the Tema Youth bankroller launched his policy document to convince delegates to vote him in the elections, in anticipation of going through the Vetting process.

His disqualification leaves Amanda Clinton, George Ankoma Mensah, Nana Yaw Amponsah, Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie and Frederick Pappoe in the Presidential race.

The Normalisation Committee acting as the Elections Committee for the 2019 GFA Presidential and Executive Council elections has received the recommendations of the Vetting Committee.

By their recommendations, the following have passed as candidates for the respective positions:
