The Office of the Head of Civil Service has unveiled Information Technology (IT) projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of government services.
The project, funded by the Public Sector Reform for Results Project (PSRRP), comprised the installation of a video conference facility, a new website and the presentation of IT equipment to the Management Service Department.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of the Civil Service, Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, stated that the launch of the IT projects was a significant milestone for the Service as it marks the beginning of efforts to expand technological frontiers, which is consistent with the government’s digitalisation agenda.
He said the projects would enhance connectivity, collaboration and efficiency in service delivery, adding that, in the current dispensation, “the power of technology has become an indispensable tool for bridging gaps and fostering meaningful connections.”
Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh expressed gratitude to stakeholders, including the World Bank/Project Management Unit, the Project Implementation Team at OHCS, the Technical Evaluation Committee, WebberMill Limited for redesigning the websites, Dexterity Consult, and others who contributed in various ways to the project’s success.
On her part, the project Manager of PSRRP, Dr Betty Nanor Arthur commended the Head of Civil Service for ensuring the project’s success.
She was optimistic that the projects would solve some of the Service’s difficulties and considerably improve service delivery.
